At Media Sky Studio, we needed a scalable way to track and calculate project points for our contract designers to manage capacity and ensure accurate monthly payouts. When our primary enterprise work management architecture failed to support the necessary dynamic formulas, I utilized AI-assisted development to rapid-prototype a bespoke, standalone web application to bridge the operational gap.

To properly manage our subscription delivery model, I implemented a system where every assigned design task carried a specific point value. At the end of each month, completed tasks needed to be tallied to calculate exact contractor payouts.
I initially assumed our central hub, Monday.com, could easily aggregate this data. However, we quickly hit a hard system limitation. Even after escalating the issue and spending several hours directly with Monday.com support, we determined that their native architecture simply could not sum up the amounts accurately based on our specific rolling monthly criteria. I tested multiple third-party integration apps, but they also proved unreliable and introduced unacceptable data discrepancies.
This created a major administrative bottleneck: I was forced to export raw data and manually tally designer points in a sprawling spreadsheet—a tedious process that drained over 3 hours of my management bandwidth every single month and introduced a high risk of human error.
Rather than surrendering to manual spreadsheet tallying—which is highly prone to human error and drains management bandwidth—I decided to step outside the Monday.com ecosystem.
Leveraging modern AI-assisted development (vibe coding), I acted as both the Product Manager and Developer to build a custom standalone application from the ground up. I architected the app to specifically ingest our task data and accurately count qualifying design tasks per month. More importantly, I built in the exact UI our management team needed: allowing the data to be instantly filtered by Date Range, Designer, and Client.
Dynamic Data Aggregation: The custom interface allows management to instantly expand individual designer profiles to audit specific completed tasks and verify monthly point totals before processing payouts.
